Job Overview

o    Ensure safe, quality production on a consistent basis, and create an environment of continuous improvement to help meet the increasing expectations of our customers as it relates to quality / delivery / cost.
o    Coordinating work schedules & activities for the shift.
o    Hiring, performance reviews, conflict resolution (in conjunction with HR Department)
o    Establish department & employee development plans to develop highly effective teams at all levels.
o    Ensure employees are trained / cross-trained to maintain a highly skilled & flexible workforce.
o    Maintain high visibility on the floor & promote good morale and a “team” atmosphere- establishing rapport so that employees can come to you w/ an issue/concern and expect it to be handled in an objective and/or confidential manner (as appropriate).
o    Ensures safety policies are adhered to, and promotes & encourages a clean & organized work environment.
o    Be the primary contact person in the dept.
    Maintain open lines of communication with other departments to better optimize VPI operations, such as changing course to expedite production parts through the paint system, painting R&D & facilities engineering items, etc.
o    Monitor & order materials/consumables (powder, paint, chemicals, PPE, filters, etc).

Required Qualifications
•    Minimum high school diploma
•    Minimum 1-3 years of applicable work experience – whether painting, or other manufacturing environment.
•    Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving 
•    Demonstrated organizational skills
•    Demonstrated leadership skills
•    Strong communication skills


Preferred Qualifications
•    Some College Preferred 
•    Several years  of  experience supervising employees.
