CMM Technician II at Ditch Witch:
This employee principally will support Measurement Service Group at Ditch Witch®. Assists other employees with quality projects, training, and evaluating condition of product.
What Will You Do?
Reads, analyzes, and interprets information from a variety of sources, including service and operator's manuals, drawings, photographs, engineering specifications, notes, etc.
Interprets machine prints, welding prints, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, process flow charts, routing of parts, etc. to contain and resolve quality related problems.
Measures parts using a CMM and/or Romer Arm and interprets report results.
Periodically conducts gage calibration.
Inspect and measure machined parts and/or weldments.
Initiates corrective actions and preventative actions.
Performs occasional inspections of equipment, purchased parts, manufactured parts, and defective parts returned from a dealership.
Helps get dispositions for out-of-specification material completed which includes contacting the appropriate department such as Product Support, Design, Purchasing, etc.
Assists various departments for verification of new and existing products which may include supplier visits, dealership visits, etc.
Work Environment:
Regular, continuous use of a computer.
Office environment some of the time, with regular trips to the shop (including Plant1 , 3, and Product Development), and occasional work outdoors. Primary shift would be evening (3pm – 11pm) or night shift (11pm – 7am).
What Will You Need?
High school or equivalent required and a minimum 3 years of related experience.
ASQ Inspector, Technician or Calibration certification.
Proficient with GD&T.
Proficient with CMM and Romer Arm operation.
Understanding of calibration and methods.
Interpret machined and welded part drawings.
Exhibit appropriate basic mechanical skills and aptitude.
