We are seeking a Sourcing leader and mentor linking Lean Manufacturing with Supply Chain management. This role provides leadership to develop and implement strategies to coordinate direct materials across the organization. Defines and directs sourcing management initiatives in alignment with Supply Chain and department strategic plans. Broadens and deepens the relationships with existing and new suppliers while driving efficiencies, cost reductions and contract compliance. Works with sourcing operations and sourcing analytics leaders to manage supplier relationships, quality and continuity of supply.

What Will You Do?

  • Define and direct sourcing initiatives in alignment with strategic plans and supply chain stages

  • Develop and implement strategies to coordinate direct material procurement across the organization.

  • Drive tactical execution of negotiations, contracting, product lifecycle management, risks, pricing and forecasts and reassess proper contract contents and terms

  • Lead the effort to rationalize the supplier base by decreasing the number of vendors while simultaneously improving quality and reducing total cost.

  • Build business cases that support strategic sourcing teams and make recommendations to optimize the application of the strategic sourcing process.

  • Establish strong and effective relationships with key suppliers (existing and new)  to ensure quality, cost, delivery and productivity targets are met.

  • Negotiate, implement and manage supplier contracts and service level agreements.

  • Collaborate across all business functions to formulate, implement and execute sourcing and continuous improvement strategies.

  • Assure optimization of supplier performance including portfolio analysis, supplier performance evaluation, supplier quality planning and supplier technology contributions.

  • Lead, develop and support managers within sourcing toward high functioning performance.

  • Balance the supply spend with international opportunities and manage employees outside of the US.

  • Attend and provide report out information as needed to include Material Price Variance, Purchase Price Variance, Dashboard (monthly review meetings), Supply Chain Leadership meetings, Quality teams/divisions and more.

  • All other special tasks, assignments, and projects as assigned.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

  • Lead the work of Sourcing Managers and Commodity teams consisting of commodity managers, buyers and operations buyers. 

  • Responsible for establishing strategies for sourcing/supply chain with process excellence focus. 

  • Lead a team of four direct reports, with an overall staff of approximately 45 employees.

  • Working with and overseeing annual purchases of ~$1.6B.

  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally, approximately 30%.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and to handle other computer components.

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Manufacturing, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

  • Five (5) or more years’ progressive leadership experience in strategic sourcing or relevant supply chain roles with a total of 10-15 years’ relevant business experience.

  • Demonstrated analytical and leadership skills to help drive process improvements as well as manage a diverse team of sourcing professionals.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing commodities in a highly seasonal / variable volume business.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and support special projects as needed.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.

  • Excellent business acumen and problem-solving capability at the strategic level.

  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and change priorities and direction as needed, allowing for optimum effectiveness.

  • Ability to maintain composure during high-stress situations and maintain focus on ultimate objectives.

  • Competitive Salary– The pay rangetakes into accountskills, experience, education, and location.It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between$182,000-$230,000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.You may be eligible toparticipatein an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
