The Residential, Landscape, and Contractor [RLC] division of The Toro Company develops and sells inventive outdoor power equipment for use on residential and municipal properties. It is committed to delivering superior innovation and customer care. We are seeking a talented and motivated Marketing Manager to join our growing team and contribute to the success of our marketing initiatives, drive profitable growth in the business and deliver best-in-class post-sale customer experience.

As an RLC Marketing Manager II, you'll lead the RLC post -sale dealer/distributor business (parts, accessories, services) and will be responsible for end to end P&L management and 4P strategy (Product-Pricing-Promotion-Placement) for the channel, leading marketing initiatives, and working with channel partners to execute financial plans and in turn drive profitable growth in the business while deliver best in class post-sale customer experience.

Your Opportunity:

The position of RLC Marketing Manager II provides a unique opportunity to utilize one’s analytical skills, creative problem-solving, entrepreneurial spirit and core product-marketing toolkit. In this role, you will not only oversee product development and support for dealer and distributor channels but also play a vital part in shaping strategies that enhance the customer journey at every touchpoint. Your leadership will be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, optimizing product offerings, and ensuring effective collaboration across teams. With a focus on both innovation and operational excellence, you will help bridge the gap between our brand and our customers, translating business objectives into actionable marketing programs. In this role you will be accountable and responsible for the financial results (Revenue and EBIT) for the RLC Post-Sale business.

The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of financial terminology / P&L elements, ability to identify levers which drive P&L impact, strong product-marketing expertise, excellent project management skills, detail orientation, understanding of multi-channel sales models, and most importantly a execution focused growth-mindset.

Work Location: 

  • The work location is in Bloomington, MN Toro's International Corporate Headquarters.Fully remote is not available at this time.

  • The current team works 5-days on campus in Bloomington, MN.There could be occasional and intermittent times when hybrid is available, but generally this team is in the office 5-days a week.

  • This role includes travel 15%-20% (both domestic and international) for VOC events and meeting with customers, with related expense reporting duties.

What Will You Do? Key Responsibliites:

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: 

  • P&L ownership and management: Set and deliver on financial goals (Revenue and EBIT). Work with sales teams, channel partners, and finance teams to develop financial plans (annual and quarterly revisions). Work with cross-functional teams to achieve financial objectives.

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop product and marketing tactics to meet financial objectives for the business, drive sustained profitable growth for the company. Develop and implement levers for market share and margin improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, marketing, product management, engineering) to identify and drive high-impact sales opportunities and long-term product strategy execution. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure strategies are effective. Most importantly, maintain a ’80-20 mindset’ and prioritize the high-impact needle mover initiatives

  • Program Implementation: Plan and execute channel marketing programs, guide the external and inside sales teams’ field implementation. Track market acceptance and effectiveness of product content, marketing programs, and policies.

  • Sales Enablement: Facilitate onboarding and ongoing engagement for new and existing dealer/distributor channel sales teams, identify differentiators to support messaging and new product development opportunities.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent the business category, Toro’s channel partners, and consumers while working with engineering, sales, upstream and downstream marketing, and operations to align efforts and messaging. Serve as the marketing liaison for supplier relationships, ensuring consistent product quality and availability.

What Do You Need? Required Mindsets, Skills, and Knowledge:

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Education & experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field. MBA preferred.

    • 10+ years of experience in marketing, product management or business development.

    • Parts, Accessories and Services experience preferred.

    • Solid understanding of financial planning and P&L management.

    • Proven team player, high degree of professionalism, fit with culture of TTC, and ability to build trust-based relationships within the company and its stakeholders.

    • Experience with B2B sales processes and understanding of channel partners (e.g., dealers, distributors).

  • Skills

    • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.

    • Healthy balance between the ‘science’ (e.g., analytical) and ‘art’ (e.g., negotiation, collaboration with dealers) to solve business problems.

    • Ability to create business plans and present to senior executives effectively.

    • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.

    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, data reporting tools, and business operating systems (e.g. Power BI, Salesforce, SAP).

    • Travel required ~15-20%, for industry/customer events and customer research.

  • Competitive Salary A reasonable estimate would be $117,300 - $146,000 for this opportunity. The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
