The Senior Paralegal, eDiscovery & Data Management plays a pivotal role in supporting the Legal Department’s litigation, regulatory, and investigative functions. This position is responsible for proactively managing the full lifecycle of eDiscovery projects and implementing best practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate timelines. A key focus of the role is the strategic oversight of data management processes to ensure defensible, secure, and compliant handling of electronically stored information (ESI).

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:  

eDiscovery Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of standardized eDiscovery workflows aligned with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Manage litigation holds and document preservation efforts for legal, regulatory, subpoena, and internal investigation matters.
  • Set up and configure review and production workspaces in RelativityOne and other eDiscovery platforms.
  • Conduct first-pass document review, tagging, and coding for relevance, privilege, and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate and execute document productions in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and support to legal team members on eDiscovery tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for eDiscovery strategy, including scoping, planning, and execution of document collection, review, and production.

Data Management

  • Oversee the secure handling, classification, and lifecycle management of ESI across matters.
  • In collaboration with IT and other stakeholders, develop and maintain enterprise data mapping to support defensible data preservation, targeted collection, and efficient retrieval.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of data sources, custodians, and chain of custody for all preserved and collected data.
  • Monitor and report on data volumes, storage usage, and data transfer activities to support cost control and compliance.
  • Ensure data privacy and security protocols are followed in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between Legal, IT, HR, Compliance, and external vendors to coordinate eDiscovery and data management activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on legal hold and data governance policies.

Vendor & Project Oversight

  • Manage relationships with eDiscovery service providers, including tracking project milestones, deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Review and validate vendor invoices and track internal and external costs associated with eDiscovery matters.
  • Generate reports on workspace metrics, user activity, and project status for internal stakeholders.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:  

  •  ​Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred or equivalent work experience handling product liability claims.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience, with preference for working in law firm or in-house legal department, including claims management and investigation experience
  • Proven experience in eDiscovery project management and data handling in a legal or corporate environment.
  • Proficiency with eDiscovery platforms and tools.
  • RelativityOne administrator experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of litigation hold procedures, ESI lifecycle, and data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between ​$88,000​ - ​$110,000​. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
