What Will You Do?
As a Sustainability Intern at The Toro Company, you will work with a cross-functional team of engineers and scientists on projects that blend sustainability, product development, and applied research. You’ll contribute to efforts that improve environmental outcomes through better technology, data, and design. In this role, you may:
- Contribute to TTC’s sustainability strategy through technical deliverables, reports, and presentations.
- Support sustainability initiatives in partnership with TTC’s engineering, innovation, and business teams.
- Advance global sustainability objectives across TTC by supporting projects such as:
- Developing a proposed internal carbon pricing model.
- Investigating life cycle assessments (LCAs) and designing a pilot program to integrate LCA thinking into product development.
- Creating and delivering internal outreach and education materials to promote TTC’s sustainability goals.
- Supporting general corporate sustainability initiatives and data-driven decision-making.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Engineering (Mechanical, Environmental, Agricultural, or Industrial); Data Science; Environmental & Sustainability Science or a related field
- Experience performing Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs)
- Knowledge of circular economy principles
- Strong experience with Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability – takes ownership and demonstrates initiative and follow-up.
- Adaptable and flexible – ability to handle ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and a customer service orientation.

- Competitive Pay – The anticipated pay range is $22.00–$33.00 per hour, based on experience and education level.
