The Robotics Engineer – Perception Systems, will design, develop, and validate perception-driven localization capabilities for autonomous outdoor equipment. This role combines computer vision, robotics software development, and multi-sensor integration to deliver reliable positioning and navigation performance in real-world environments.
The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on engineering environment, enjoys solving complex perception challenges, and is passionate about bringing autonomous robotics technologies from prototype to production.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Strong programming experience in Python and/or C++ for robotics and perception systems.
Experience with computer vision, visual odometry, or SLAM algorithms.
Familiarity with sensor fusion techniques (e.g., Kalman filtering, robot localization frameworks, multi-sensor state estimation).
Working knowledge of ROS/ROS 2 or comparable robotics middleware.
Ability to analyze system performance, debug multi-node robotic software, and validate results against ground truth.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 2+ years work experience with robotics.

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $84300 - $106000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
