Who Are We?
The Toro Company is a homegrown, Minnesota-based company that has been in business since 1914. Our Frederick, CO robotics team, located roughly 30 minutes from both Denver and Boulder, supports a number of innovative autonomous products across the business.
In this position, you will be building systems and writing code that is the foundation of TTC’s cloud-based software systems within the Toro Robotics department. We have several projects in which you will contribute to functional components of our platform including data storage and management, real-time messaging, and communications along with network security, information processing and data warehousing. Additionally, qualified candidates will be contributing to the support and expansion of our AWS service architecture and continuous integration systems. Our projects cover everything from managing users and robots, to robotic job planning, real-time monitoring and support of autonomous products in the field.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Develop, support and expand cloud microservice solutions for autonomous systems
Apply various IoT technologies to improve real-time control of products and features.
Support of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems and pipelines
Collaborate with team members, customers, and product leadership on all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Bachelor of Computer Science degree or equivalent degree required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bonus:
2+ years of relevant programming experience in one of: Python, Java, Go, Bash, et.al.
2+ years of relevant CI/CD systems management and support
Understanding of MQTT protocol and RESTful architectures
Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) databases
Administration experience with Linux (Ubuntu, Yocto)
Experience with embedded Linux build systems (Buildroot, Bitbake)
Experience collaborating with others: express new ideas and listen to others
Experience with Python, Bash, Java, Rust, Go and/or C/C++ development languages
Experience with one or more agile software development processes (SCRUM, Kanban, etc.).
Experience with cloud computing services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
SW Engineer I 0-2 years experience
SW Engineer II-2-4 years experience
SW Engineer III-4-6 years experience
SW Engineer IV-7+ years experience

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $71700 - $145000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
