Reporting to Director of Operations, this role establishes the long-term materials planning strategy for Iron Mountain and ensures day to day supply continuity is achieved. This position is responsible for the Materials organization, which includes planning, scheduling, production control, inventory management, warehouse, shipping, receiving and overall material flow throughout the site.
This position collaborates with other members of the Iron Mountain leadership team to identify and address materials related issues and leads the supply planning process as part of the Integrated Business Planning system, which includes collaboration and alignment with other business and functional leaders.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Master Scheduling:
Develop and execute long and short-range production plans to meet customer on-time delivery while optimizing inventory and manpower resources
Leads development of the Master Production Schedule through collaboration with other functional groups
Ensures the Master Scheduler has all models assigned to Iron Mountain, scheduled in an efficient, logical manner which optimizes site capacity and is accurately reflected in SAP
Responsible for capacity/load management in all areas of the manufacturing floor.
Supply Planning
Leads material flow strategy and execution utilizing Lean manufacturing principles, including PFEP, KANBAN, Pull, MRP, ROP, etc.
Assures all needed materials to support the Master Schedule are planned, expedited, warehoused and distributed in the most cost-effective manner.
Obtains major performance goals including schedule attainment, work in process levels (WIP), finished goods level, service fill rates, inventory turns, inventory accuracy and budget controls
Maintains the JIT policies and programs necessary to support the inventory goals
Manage flow of raw and subcontract material from suppliers; team with sourcing group and suppliers to meet customer delivery and cost objectives
Accounts for accuracy of inventory, lost inventory, and location accuracy through the use of accepted cycle counting procedures and insures at least one statistical inventory audit and one final inventory audit are conducted during each fiscal year.
Serves as the Supplier POC including responsibility for supplier performance, supplier forecast/capacity and execution against open orders.
Manages day to day requisitions, SAP exceptions triggers and orders
Material availability and communication of component delivery to production
Improvement projects- consignment, LT reduction, MOQ reduction, etc.
Drive down to root cause and corrective action for every Down notification and follow Down notification process.
Production Control
Assures that all sequence cards are accurate and issued in a timely manner
Insures service parts are produced and shipped per the required due date to maintain a 98% or higher fill rate.
Production Schedule Maintenance and execution
Material Shortage escalation to Supply Planners
Customer order schedules reviews for capacity and manpower planning with the Master Scheduler
Alerts/escalates past due customer orders to customer care and recovery plan
Ensures proper and timely dispositioning of obsolete inventory based on standard process
Coordinates the ‘outside’ reworking of parts and material to meet changes in the requirements due to TEO’s, ECM’s, and TCN’s
Serves as liaison between production and Materials Planner
IBP / SIOP
Continually incorporate customer demand fluctuations into production plan and provide customer feedback and communications when issues develop
Leads the IBP central supply process and ensure compliance to the requirements
Logistics
Assure necessary material handling activities are executed to support the shop floor, shipping and receiving and assure inventory accuracy is maintained. Manage all storage locations.
Receives, warehouses, and distributes inventory in a cost-effective manner while maintaining inventory accuracy through a cycle counting program.
Responsible for shipping of finished product in a proper and effective manner in accordance with Toro and Federal transportation regulations.
Master Data Management
Responsible to create standards for Materials planning master data in SAP including the audit and measurement back to that standard.
Insures the Planning function follows agreed upon parameters regarding purchased volumes, lead times, and delivery dates including service order requirements.
Other Responsibilities
Promotes technology improvements (bar-coding, EDI, ASN’s) within the Materials group
Leads continual improvement efforts in systems/processes to meet customer delivery and cost objectives
Stays current and in compliance with all government regulations, ISO requirements and material flow concepts
Attend weekly ISC meeting.
Update various weekly and monthly spreadsheets from Corporate Finance (E&O, CC Variance, Subcontract Inv).
Lead Tier II and Tier III Materials meetings.
Attend Tier III Operations and Tier IV meetings.
Create and manage Materials Department Annual Strategy Plan.

What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business or similar field, with a master’s degree preferred
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in various materials and supply chain disciplines
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in budgeting, production control, inventory control, material planning
Strong organizational, interpersonal and team building skills. Must have direct supervisory experience.
Strong management, communication, and leadership skills. Should be motivated with a positive attitude, with ability to work in a group/team setting
Progressive experience in manufacturing environment demonstrating growth in position and/or responsibility
Experience implementing various material signaling concepts such as kanban, min/max, ROP, MRP
Proven experience implementing Lean material flow concepts, systems and tools such as Plan for Every Part (PFEP), pull systems, supermarkets, scheduling boards, tugger routes, etc.
Strong analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze multifaceted, complex situations, problems, and concepts
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds
Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and change priorities and direction as needed, allowing for optimum effectiveness
Aptitude and desire to gain understanding of situations, processes, and procedures in an effort to improve them
Preferred:
Experience with MRP and ERP systems
Systems experience with shop floor control
APICS or other Materials Planning certification
Experience with Lean principles, tools, and systems such as Value Stream Mapping, Material Flow, Visual Management, Standard Work, Change Over, Root Cause Analysis
Previous experience with weld, paint, assembly, injection molding or extrusion processes preferred
IBP/SIOP experience in a supply planning capacity
Lean practitioner and/or Six Sigma certification
Ability to travel up to 10%
