BOSS Snowplow, located in Iron Mountain, Michigan is a division of The Toro Company. BOSS is a leader in the snow and ice management business with a growing lineup of plows for trucks, UTVs and ATVs, salt and sand spreaders, and box plows built for the snow and ice management professional, as well as the homeowner. With a focus on uncompromising quality and high-level craftsmanship, BOSS has grown to be a leader in the sale of truck plows.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with design and implementation new products
- Design fixtures/ tools for welding, assembly, and machine areas
- Assist with preventative maintenance procedures
- Participate and Lead Rapid Improvement (Kaizen) events (1 week long event to improve processes)
- Recognize and help with problem solving efforts in the plant
- Create methods for standard work procedures
- Work with design engineers to reduce costs and help improve quality of product
Education: Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience:
- Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting and forming, painting and assembly
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Experience with 3D CAD or Creo Parametric is a plus
- Experience in fixture design (part specific tables and tools to help with manufacturing practices)
Skills:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong leadership skills to lead a team and pull information from others
- Problem solving skills
- Demonstrated computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Pro-Engineer
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
- Ability to take on multiple responsibilities/ projects at once
- Prioritize based on due dates or importance of projects
Wage:
$22-28/hr, determined based on schooling completed
