Shift Times: 7:30 AM-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday
Typical starting pay, $22.65/hr.-$28.31/hr.
Quality Technician II at HammerHead:
This position is for a high energy, self-driven personality with the ability to capture data in an organized fashion. The ability to communicate and document quantitative results to Supervisors is key in driving continuous improvements in solving day to day problems. The interaction with suppliers, and internal departments and employees requires patience, excellent listening, and communication skills to help in root cause analysis while keeping product flowing. This person must have the ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. The position is very task driven, hands on, and requires an emphasis on safety.
What Will You Do?:
Document audits and daily internal product testing, along with inspections from outside suppliers:
Communicate daily within HH and outside supply chain using processes in place.
Creation and upkeep of control logs and control plans for product along with data entry from audits of components.
Maintain continuous parts flow through inspection and the production lines.
Daily interaction with other departments:
Help troubleshoot issues as they arise if related to parts and assist in testing if necessary.
Learn and assist with internal processes as they affect Quality, creating standard operating procedures, work instructions, and single point lessons as needed.
Set up and lead cross functional meetings when necessary.
Participate in the cross functional stage gate 1PDS process with the release of new product.
Develop/improve processes:
Focus on root cause analysis to improve processes to prevent and eliminate problems from happening.
Work closely with Engineering and Product Management on the development and improvement of product as needed.
Maintain the calibration of the gauges for the area.
Maintain and drive the non-conforming inventory to get it turned quickly to completion.
Cross train on quality functions with the metal side of the company when possible.
What Do You Need?
High school diploma or equivalent required.
An associate's degree in a related field preferred (e.g., Quality Control, Manufacturing Technology, or Engineering).
Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
Quality auditing, processing, and documenting.
​Working knowledge of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, Instron and other measuring equipment preferred.
At least 2 years of work experience in a quality related and driven environment.
Strong aptitude in math.
Machining background a plus.
SAP knowledge and experience a plus.
Chemical Quality background a plus.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. daily and operate a forklift.
Work Environment:
Use of inspection lab and equipment to inspect and verify parts and products from inside processes and outside suppliers.
Rapidly changing demands, schedules, and deadlines.
Willing to travel to suppliers if needed to review and work with them to assure good parts.
Majority of the day on your feet and extended use of a computer.
Flexible working hours overtime as necessary.
