Shipping Technician at HammerHead:

The Shipping Technician’s responsibilities are to load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers, in addition to maintaining and organizing the warehouse inventory, to perform receiving and shipping duties as assigned.

What Will You Do?

  • Responsible for shipping all materials, parts and equipment in accordance with Hammerhead production orders or purchase orders including but not limited to:

    • Ensuring correct products are pulled from stock and properly tagging all items with part numbers.

    • Inspecting containers to make sure they are in proper condition for shipping.

    • Creating shipping labels and packing slips, and confirming that information is neat, legible, and attached to each order.

    • Palletizing orders as required.

    • Helping load materials into trucks and containers securely and safely.

    • Signing trucker’s paperwork when loading is complete and all materials verified as being shipped.

    • Completing all shipping paperwork and entering into the computer.

    • Running final checks to see that all shipments meet the highest quality standards.

    • Processing shipping documentation as required, Bills of Lading.

  • Responsible for receiving of all materials, parts, containers, supplies, returned goods and equipment in accordance with HammerHead department work instructions including but not limited to:

    • Unloading trucks and containers.

    • Verifying count of units or items received.

    • Receiving goods from manufacturing, paint booth and closing work orders.

    • Signing trucker’s paperwork when unloading is completed and all materials verified as being received.

    • Forwarding paperwork to accounts payable and entering into the computer.

    • Properly tagging all items with AA part numbers.

    • Storing or moving all materials to proper warehouse locations.

    • Ensuring rental or demo returns paperwork is filled out and forwarding those to proper departments.

    • Maintaining and organizing the warehouse and yard of parts, materials and equipment. 

    • Properly tag all items with part numbers.

    • Covering, protecting, and storing items to prevent damage from the weather.

    • Other duties that are deemed necessary by Management.

What Do You Need?

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1-2 years of warehouse/material handling experience including forklift/powered trucks operation.

  • Demonstrate proficient skills in basic computer knowledge; experience with computerized tracking/inventory systems and Microsoft programs. SAP experience is a plus.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

  • Job requires frequent standing, sitting, bending, climbing, and elevated work. 

  • Ability to be certified to operate a forklift and use other warehouse equipment.

  • Have a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, with variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt). Occasional outside work.

  • Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, overhead storage, and materials handling.

  • Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases.

  • Highly variable duties, workloads, and priorities. Changes often happen with little advance notice.
