Materials Planner at Ditch Witch:

The person in this position develops material requirements, prepares supplier delivery schedules, and schedules material as needed to ensure parts are ordered to meet the production schedule. Maintains delivery plan with plant contact to suppliers and subcontractors. Expedites late orders while maintaining optimum inventory levels.

What Will You Do?

  • Develop material requirements using SAP and/or other advanced information.

  • Prepare requisition orders specifying quantity and scheduled delivery dates utilizing the desired inventory level policies.

  • Analyze ordered parts and initiate adjustments to purchase orders in keeping with established order policies. 

  • Adjust any purchase orders affected by engineering drawing and bill of material changes as directed by management.

  • Coordinate information and delivery on new production parts for prototype and new product builds. 

  • Support plant Kanban program with analysis of usage, suitability of potential vendors, and parts for inclusion in the program.

  • Coordinate the activities required for remedying parts shortages caused by tooling delays, equipment deficiencies, supplier delivery constraints, and/or other related issues. 

  • Work directly with Quality Control as concerns arise.

  • Work with Sourcing, Quality, and Receiving to return rejected or damaged inventory to the supplier.

  • Interact with production supervisors and production schedulers on parts availability. 

  • Ensure that all safety rules and programs are followed and maintained within the assigned area of responsibility.

What Do You Need?

  • HS diploma or equivalent required; and

  • Two year post high school education from a vocational technical school or college in business administration, accounting, or related field; or

  • Minimum of 2 years direct experience in inventory control, materials management, or traffic operations.

Work Environment:

  • This opportunity is based out of Perry, Oklahoma at the Ditch Witch Campus. Other job locations and/or fully remote is not available at this time. The current team works 5-days on-site. Some travel may be required.

  • Typical working hours are 6:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday-Friday

  • Workday lengths of up to 10 hours, with occasional weekend work.

  • Extended use of a computer. Office environment most of the time, with regular trips to shop floor.

  • Interpersonal working relationships with multi-levels of employees and management, including Production, Engineering, Quality Control, Purchasing, and Toro Corporate. 

  • Regularly interacts with Toro suppliers to order and expedite materials on a timely basis. 

  • Often works under pressure to meet schedule changes, deal with parts emergencies and outages, or deal with unforeseen delivery problems.

  • Competitive Pay A reasonable pay range for this opportunity is $20.39/hr.-$25.49/hr. The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
