The product test technician visually inspects, evaluates, operates units, gathers data and designs test equipment to determine compliance of products to safety standards, performance requirements, and durability parameters. Summarizes and reports findings to Test Engineers for further action.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Operate equipment in field-test conditions.
Document and report test information to engineers and designers.
Modify and repair equipment.
Work on mechanical, electric, and hydraulic systems using power, hand and diagnostic tools (hoists, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, laptop, etc.).
Eventually be cross-trained to perform other departmental duties, including welding, machining, and assembly.
Work independently some of the time, with limited supervision.
Meet or exceed typical expectations for production, quality, and safety.
Have a good attitude and work well in a team setting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Background in operating and maintaining heavy mobile ag or construction equipment.
Level 1 - 0 to 7 years experience
Level 2 - min 7 years experience +CDL
Level 3 - 12+ years experience +CDL
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electric, and hydraulic systems on heavy equipment..
Ability to work independently and in team environment supporting cross-functional staff members
Other Job-Related Components
Travel will be required to field test sites to operate equipment in varying weather conditions.
Ability to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
Provide physical and technical support to Operations and other designated engineering departments.
Collaborate with engineers, other technicians, vendors, designers, drafters etc. and management personnel.

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $22.65 - $35.00. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
