Production Scheduler at Ditch Witch:
This employee is responsible for the planning of manufactured components and production scheduling to support the flow of parts to assembly and service parts.
What Will You Do:
Plan manufactured parts components utilizing SAP driven tools.
Ensure planned order quantities support production line planning.
Must regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Often works without direct supervision, using discretion and independent judgment in the decision-making process.
Plans daily activities that are within the department budget and goals as set by the department manager.
Makes independent decisions that will directly impact the operation of the business.
Monitor inventory of finished goods to maintain yearly targets.
Scheduling of assembly trials, pre-series, etc. inventory levels.
Regular maintenance of material master data.
Develop and maintain the flexibility to cope with abrupt changes in schedule requirements.
Review and monitor design changes, ECO’s, planning changes and model discontinuance notices to minimize material surplus or obsolescence.
Participate in monitoring/planning for timely and economical disposal of surplus, obsolete and rejected material.
Assure on-time delivery of new components in support of new product introductions.
Coordinate processing of service part requirements between production and materials departments to minimize customer backorders.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
What Will You Need?
Demonstrate appropriate reading, clerical, analytical and math skills.
Ability to maintain accurate data, both in computer system and/or manually and to communicate information to all levels of management as required.
Solid MS Word and PowerPoint skills and have advanced skills in Excel.
Demonstrate excellent communications skills (in person, by telephone, and in writing), including a professional, self-confident image.
Ability to effectively challenge the current ways of working and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment without direct supervision.
Have a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.
Be able to handle items weighing up to 50 pounds. This includes pushing, pulling, lifting, and positioning items.
Work Environment:
Plant environment most of the time.
Regular continuous use of a computer and telephone.
Work with confidential information.
Rapidly changing workloads, priorities, multiple commitments and frequent deadlines.
Typical workdays of 9 hours, occasionally longer.
