Technical Services Technician - Irrigation

An opportunity exists for a driven and customer focused applicant to join our Technical Services – Irrigation team to provide field technical support to our customers in line with priorities established by the National Irrigation Sales & Specifications Manager and the Regional Manager for their region.
What will you do?
Your responsibilities will include:
Provide technical advice relating to the suitability for use, operation, servicing and maintenance of all Irrigation, Irritrol and Toro Irrigation product, to our customers.
Provide competency based training material on our product to our customers.
Assist our Sales Managers with the delivery of competency based training programs.
Provide advice to our Sales Managers to assist them with the compilation of quotes and tenders. Provide design assistance where required to complete a tender…e.g. wiring designs.
Accompany our Sales Managers as an aide in presenting quotes, products or the company to customers.
Provide an in-field commissioning service for a Toro system if such has been quoted as part of a package by a Sales Manager.
Along with the Toro QA department liaise with Toro controller repair agents to maintain their ability to service designated controllers.
Irrinet assembly – site specific configuration
Toro Satellite – radio site survey and satellite frequency programming.
What do you need?
Relevant experience in the irrigation industry and/or Irrigation contractors certificates.
Able to read and analyse hydraulic schematics.
Able to interpret engineering drawing.(Parts Breakdown drawings, simple electrical schematics).
Extensive experience in Irrigation products and applications
A “hands on” technical support and a “can do” attitude
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to establish effective business relationships with internal and external partners
Strong focus on customer service
Knowledge of safe working practices.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, with minimal day to day instructions or as part of a team
Ability to work in a flexible environment, which includes time required for completing tasks.
Strong organisational, planning and communication skills
Understanding of OH&S principles and legislation
Must have a valid Australian motor vehicle license.
