Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm

The Operations Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Plymouth Distribution Center. This position supports logistics and administrative functions, working closely with warehouse personnel, order entry, inventory control, and Toro Bookloads. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate order records, managing international shipment documentation, and preparing bills of lading for Toro’s Worldwide Distribution Center.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
- Respond to general inquiries regarding order status via email in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the daily processing and flow of customer orders.
- Prepare and process domestic shipments using small parcel and LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers.
- Release and manage international orders, ensuring all required documentation is prepared for accurate and timely delivery.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of Toro parts office operations.
- Configure shipments using various vendor portal systems.
- Assist with plant and vendor receiving processes, including documentation for inspection, painting, packaging, internal assembly, and stocking.
- Perform inventory management tasks as needed.
- Execute special projects and tasks as assigned by management.
- Obtain and maintain hazardous shipping certifications; process hazardous shipments across all transportation modes.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
- High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, administrative support, or a similar role—preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and internet-based tools.
- Ability to learn and utilize systems such as UPS WorldShip, SAP, OTM, and CMS.
- Knowledge of hazardous shipping regulations is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and system navigation.
- Adaptable and quick to learn in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Standard office environment with typical lighting, temperature, and noise levels.
- Ability to walk and stand throughout the distribution center, including stair climbing.
- Manual dexterity required for computer use and handling documentation.
