What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
- Lead the New Supplier Mentoring process during the Supplier’s first year in the business relationship with Toro. Includes review of Toro’s business processes, performance expectations, and use of E-Sourcing tools.
- Provide production startup support to the Supplier during initiatives such as Advanced Product Quality Planning and 1st production witness audits Provide ongoing production support such as random Source inspections, Failure Analysis support / follow up as a result of corrective action requests, and regular performance reviews. Monitor India supplier performance like PPM, On-time-Qualification, PPAP Infancy, Supplier Quality notifications etc to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Works with the Toro Sourcing Quality organization to identify key and/or problem Suppliers in need of performance improvement or developmental activities. Establishes a direct working relationship with key Suppliers to counsel and guide their improvement efforts.
- Monitor the implementation and follow up of action plans to ensure sustained continual improvement to the mutual benefit of the Supplier, Toro, and our end Customer.
- Works with representatives from Sourcing Quality, Production Sourcing, Toro plants, IPO India Sourcing team and Supplier organization, as required, to support established processes and continual improvement efforts.
- Works with outside agencies, as required, in evaluating new and existing Suppliers, for evaluation of products, or other services.
- Lead, monitor and improve the supplier quality Key Performance Indicators as the contact person, make sure India base suppliers respect and follow the Quality Expectations/Business Process Compliance described in Toro Supplier Manual.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in Supplier quality management.
- On hand experience working in multiple commodity processes like Hydraulics, Rubber, Plastics, Steel, Electrical, etc.
- Must aware and experience in PPAP and APQP processes
- Lead auditor or Internal auditor certification will be added advantage
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering specifications and drawings written in English.
- Must be skilled in the assessment of manufacturing processes in multiple industries.
- Strong working knowledge in TS 16949 / ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, Failure Analysis, quality planning, auditing, failure mode effect analysis and reliability analysis is required.
- Should have skills using Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, MS projects
- ASQ certification, or equivalent, in the areas of Quality Auditing, Quality Engineering, Reliability, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Quality Management is desirable.
