As the Mechanical Technician II, you will perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance and repair on the building, mechanical equipment, and utility systems.

1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday-Friday

Starting Pay: $35.14 per hour

What Will You Do?

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, and pneumatic tools.

  • Skilled to install or repair faulty wiring; inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery.

  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment along with troubleshooting and performing non-routine repairs when applicable.

  • Works closely with Technicians to ensure machinery and mechanical equipment is operating at peak performance for safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.

  • Anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders.

  • Maintains stability among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Follows all safety rules and procedures including but not limited to LOTO and Electrical safety

  • Complies and enforces safety policies, practices, and procedures within the department. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor assess immediate corrective actions

  • Prepares and operates a scissor lift and forklift, load materials and equipment, remove and dispose of debris.

  • Maintains and safeguards all company tools and equipment.

What Do You Need?

  • Education:  High School diploma or GED required.  Associate degree or certification in a technical field desirable

  • Experience:  3-5 years of working electrical experience in pumps and motor repair, change and installation.

  • Computer Skills:  Must have the ability to effectively use a personal computer and associated software.

  • Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend instructions and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to engineers, manufacturing employees, and other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Reasoning Skills:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

  • Other Skills and Abilities:  Must have the ability to effectively use various electronic, hand, and power tools and test equipment. Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and test procedures.  Ability to use precision measuring devices.

  • Physical Conditions: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
