Maintenance Technician at The Toro Company:
This employee is responsible for electrical/electronic systems, equipment and facilities maintenance which include repair/layout or modification of facilities/equipment with an emphasis on CNC machine controls.
What Will You Do?
Plan and/or perform installation and preventative maintenance/repair on a variety of electrical/mechanical equipment, such as control panels, junction boxes and switches, electronic control equipment, hydraulics, mechanical drives, and other apparatus as associated with machine tools.
Diagnose and correct mechanical/electrical/electronic problems using a wide variety of hand/power tools, machine shop equipment and measuring instruments to determine tolerances, fit and wear, rebuilding and adjusting of machines and equipment.
Work from electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and machine schematic diagrams, drawings and specifications.
Replace, adjust, and calibrate components to align: control, machine components, pressure, and other apparatus to required operating specifications.
Use oscilloscopes, voltmeter, strip chart records, ammeter, analog converters, amplifiers, and other diagnostic equipment to test circuitry and components.
Work closely with outside vendor service technicians, engineers, electricians and millwrights in the repair and installation of new/existing equipment/systems or change-over of plant layout requiring movement of machines, control equipment, and other apparatus.
Follow safety rules, producing quality workmanship, and for good housekeeping in work area and areas where maintenance/repair and installations are performed.
Complete all associated paperwork and recordkeeping as required.

What Do You Need?
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Vocational/trade school or equivalent training in the following areas: electrical/electronics, hydraulics, mechanical drives, pneumatics, electro-mechanical principles, machine operations, CNC machine controls or equivalent work experience.
Trade knowledge in areas such as plumbing, welding, and mechanical processes.
Work Environment:
Requires heavy lifting on an occasional basis and working from awkward positions.
Frequently exposed to fumes, solvents, grease/oil, noise, working at various heights, etc.
The primary hazard involved in this job is that of the possibility of electrical shock. Injuries resulting from inattention or carelessness would usually result in burns, but could possibly be life threatening.
Other hazards associated with this position could involve injury to self such as cuts, bruises, or potentially more serious injuries.
