The Regional Field Trainer (Irrigation) position will site remotely in the United States. Position requires 80% travel expectation.

Who Are We?

Toro’s Irrigation and Lighting business is located in Riverside, CA. The Toro Company’s irrigation business is comprised of two distinct brands, Toro® and Irritrol®. Both brands offer a full line of solid, dependable, irrigation products including controllers, sensors, valves, spray heads and rotors to help customers care for golf courses, sports fields, public green spaces, commercial and residential properties.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:  ​

  • The Field Trainer will coordinate shipping of equipment to training sites; setup and prepare classroom spaces; and conduct trainings. 
  • While onsite, the Field Trainer will handle all computer and student problems that might arise during the class while working with site management personnel with any facility problems. 
  • Will conduct training sessions covering specific program content related to assigned business unit.
  • The Field Trainer is an extension of the sales division or work unit. 
  • They will promote division programs and provide appropriate program support to all customers. 
  • The trainer will positively sell both The Toro Company and Toro products to customer classes.
  • Incumbent will provide reinforcement on customer’s decision to choose Toro for their product needs.
  • Between scheduled classes during normal business hours, the Field Trainer will work on manuals preparation and improvements, curriculum development, and other training-related opportunities for all customers.
  • Trainer is expected to file company expense reports in a timely, accurate manner with expenses being cleared at least every two weeks.  Care will be exercised to only charge valid, business expenses on company credit card.  Comments should be included with each transaction to clarify the expense.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's/2-year degree in technical discipline minimally required
  • Experience: 2-3+ years experience in turf-grass management, customer support or training environment required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ​Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English & Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Computer Skills:  Strong technical skills in PC operating systems, applications, hardware systems, protocols, and software licenses.  Extensive application support experience required with proven hardware technical planning and development.  Researches, designs and develops solutions to highly complex technical issues. 
  • Competencies: Demonstrated leadership, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence all levels of management. Thorough knowledge of support policies and procedures. Solid understanding of general business management highly desired.

Other Job-Related Components:

  • Domestic and international travel required 80% percent of the time.
  • Employee’s geographical base location must be in a city with an international airport nearby. #LI-Remote

  • Proven organizational and planning skills required.  Manages time effectively.
  • Is an organized self-starter with the initiative to carry out duties independently.

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $75,000 - $95,000.
