American Augers, located in West Salem, Ohio is a division of The Toro Company. The Electrical Design Engineer OR Designer researches and designs components and electrical systems for American Augers® products. He or she uses CAD software to create or modify files of components and systems and works closely with various component suppliers and other engineers that have mechanical, controls, and/or hydraulic responsibilities.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Leads electrical system related projects. Must be able to plan and execute all technical engineering activity for project completion.
Creates system schematics, electrical assembly drawings, and harness drawings
Directs and physically participates when needed in the construction and testing of prototypes to evaluate the design and functionality of the product
Reviews product design for compliance with standard engineering practices, company and industry standards, customer contact requirements and related specifications
Analyzes product specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which provide a good balance of performance, functionality, and cost
Solicits and evaluates input from various sources concerning product design and functionality to meet project and customer requirements
Keep abreast of new technological developments
Communicates clearly with shop personnel, customer service, service technicians, as well as end-users
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or closely related engineering field OR Associates in engineering with 10+ years relevant experience:
Engineer III - 5+ years of experience in related engineering role.
Engineer IV - 7+ years of experience in related engineering role.
Associates Degree Level III/IV-10+ experience in related engineering role.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits
Demonstrated competency in productivity, decision making, and problem resolution through successful completion of projects
Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills
Results-driven, action-oriented, positive and energetic
Preferred Experience:
Experience in design of 480 VAC and 24 VDC systems desired
Knowledge in NEC, EMC, J1939 protocol and safety systems desired
Proficiency in AutoCAD software required. Creo/Windchill or other solid modeling/PLM experience is a plus.
Experience/Interest in mobile equipment design and operation desired. Working knowledge of hydraulic systems is a plus

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $95000 - $138000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
