The Engineering Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Commercial Engineering function. This role will be responsible for providing daily support to the Commercial Engineering Director through a variety of coordination and administrative tasks. This individual will also support the department in maintaining department wide resources, coordinate monthly project reviews as well as department wide events.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: ​

  • Provide daily support to Commercial Engineering Director, including calendar management and manage and submit expense reports.
  • Maintain department shared resources such as, SharePoint home page, project lists (active & closed), hyperlinks, department org chart, department policies, etc. 
    • Maintain access and ownership permissions as required. 
    • Assist personnel by creating documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Schedule, coordinate and attend the New Product Development (NPD) gate review meetings: 
    • schedule participants and conference rooms; advance projects in the 1PDS system; collect and distribute preparatory materials.  Route materials via SharePoint for approval.  Maintain and archive electronic records.  Request new project numbers and close projects. 
  • Schedule, coordinate and attend monthly Project Review (MPR) and Product Quality & Improvement (PQI) meetings: 
    • schedule participants and conference rooms; prepare agendas; collect and distribute preparatory materials; take and distribute notes of meetings; maintain and archive electronic records of all meetings.
  • Initiate and coordinate recognition of employment milestones, including anniversaries, promotions, and retirements.  Arrange recognition of employee milestones.  
  • Initiate and coordinate department/team-wide events such as:
    • monthly all-staff meetings, department holiday potluck, and summer picnic.
    • recognition lunches, special events, and specific wearables and/or incentives
    • Maintain database of department retirees and invite as appropriate.
  • Serve as contact person for coordination of international shipments.  Complete required paperwork, identify missing data, problem-solve, and manage multiple layers of detail on a short schedule.  
  • Manage the Parts Return process for all Lyndale Engineering departments.  Determine suitability of part for return by checking SAP, request approval documents, package parts for return and transport to shipping & receiving.
  • Track and maintain documentation for purchases of safety shoes.
  • Maintain department equipment and supplies (printers, cameras, internet hot-spots, laminator, label maker, office supplies, business cards safety equipment, etc.), arrange for service, and purchase new as required.
  • Maintain workspace for Commercial Engineering teams, assisting in new employee workspace set up, space clean up and coordination with facilities as needed.  
  • Collaborate with other Engineering Coordinators and Executive Assistants, including identifying and documenting best practices.  Act as backup to other Engineering Coordinators.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (two-year associate degree preferred)
  • Level I: 2-3 years of related experience in an administrative role required.
  • Level II: 3-5+ years of related experience in an administrative role required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
  • Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with colleagues within and outside of immediate department/division.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and solve challenges while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Bloomington. #LI-Onsite. Flexible work-from-home occasionally.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Travel requirements: (minimal, ~ 2%).
