Toro is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our Commercial Equipment and Irrigation Team.

As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving budgeted Sales and profits by managing Golf Course Superintendents, Sports turf Managers, General Managers, dealers, and key accounts in the commercial equipment and irrigation space, but also to serve our Agriculture irrigation, and retail irrigation partners to the highest level. 

This position will serve customers based in a designated territory that includes but is not limited to Sydney Metropolitan region, NSW.

What will you do?

  • Participating in establishing and executing regional sales profit plans. 

  • Assist in preparing annual, quarterly and monthly sales and profit forecasts and developing strategies to achieve targets.

  • Accountability for the Sales and profit results allocated by the Regional Sales Manager, Commercial (Equipment & Irrigation).

  • Monitoring and reporting accurate market data, competitor’s activities and developing trends within the industry.

  • Investigating and resolving customer problems with deliveries and accounts or pricing issues.

  • Monitoring and reporting on competitor’s activities and developing trends within the industry.

  • Maintaining current knowledge on new products, competitors’ products and other general market information of interest to customers.

  • Demonstrating equipment and irrigation and selling our features and benefits over competition.

  • Overnight travel is a requirement of this role. 

What do you need?

  • Exceptional and proven sales skills in an irrigation/equipment environment.

  • Relevant industry experience. Golf course operational experience is an advantage.

  • Sales, persuasiveness and negotiation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Strong organisational, planning, and communication skills.

  • Excellent PC and ‘Microsoft Office’ literacy.

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Must have a valid Australian motor vehicle license.
